Colibri PXA300 208MHz (XT) is an ultra low cost SODIMM sized computer module which is part of the comprehensive Colibri product family. It is based on the Marvell/Intel ARM® XScale®PXA300 (Monahans) embedded microcomputer and runs at 208MHz. The product targets cost sensitive applications where connectivity and standard operating systems are essential. The  PXA300 processor's power consumption is optimized using the Intel Wireless Speedstep® Technology. Colibri modules feature state of the art technology, aiming at low power systems that require high CPU performance. They also provide all the interfaces needed in a modern embedded device. There are two versions available, the Colibri PXA300 208MHz and an extended version, the Colibri PXA300 208MHz XT. In addition to all of the features of Colibri PXA300 208MHz, the XT version offers audio, touch, and analog-input functionality and is qualified for extended temperatures ranging  from -25°C to +85°C.

Besides the internal Flash memory, there additional interfaces available for data storage: USB-Memory Stick and SD Card.

Colibri ARM Computer modules provide glueless connectivity to passive and active LCDs with resolutions of up to 1024x768. Colibris can directly connect to a CMOS camera sensor.

In addition Colibris offer 100 MBit Ethernet as well as USB host and USB device functionality.

Flexibility and Scalability

Colibris can be scaled to meet specific cost requirements.

The entire CPU bus is available for custom extensions, such as special interfaces for high bandwidth applications.

Professional Development Tools

Colibris come with a pre-installed Windows CE operating system and state of the art development tools that allow for an easy customization of the system to make it fit specific needs (e.g. LCD settings & timings, integration of customer software and the auto-start option at startup).

Users can therefore concentrate on their actual application without going through the hassle of setting up an operating system. Special drivers are delivered by Toradex on request.

Freescale Vybrid VF6xx Computer on Module - Colibri VF61

Powered by Freescale Vybrid Processor

The Colibri VF61 is the latest addition to the Colibri ARM based computer on module product family.

The Colibri VF61 is a SODIMM sized computer module based on the Freescale Vybrid embedded system-on-a-chip. The Cortex A5 CPU core peaks at 500 MHz and an additional M4 core runs at 167Mhz. The Computer module delivers cost effective CPU and graphic performance with minimum power consumption.

The Vybrid VF6xx family is a dual-core (ARM Cortex-A5 plus ARM Cortex-M4) solution with 1 MB on-chip SRAM, DDR3 memory interface, dual high-speed USB with PHY, dual Ethernet with an L2 switch, and a digital or analog video camera interface. They are ideal for solutions that concurrently run a commercial operating system on the Cortex-A class core and an RTOS on the Cortex-M class core. By combining ARM Cortex-A5 and Cortex-M4 cores, Vybrid VF6xx devices often eliminate the need for an external MCU or field-programmable gate array (FPGA).

Suitable for a Wide Range of Applications

Colibri VF61 ideal for applications including simple HMI in appliances and industrial machines, secure control of infrastructure and manufacturing equipment, energy conversion applications such as motor drives and power inverters, ruggedized wired and wireless connectivity, and control of mobile battery-operated systems such as robots and industrial vehicles.

Easy Performance Upgrade

Existing customers will benefit from an extremely easy migration path between the current Colibri PXAxxx or Colibri Txx module range to the Colibri VF61 – all Colibri modules are electrically pin compatible. New customers will also appreciate the ability to select the Colibri module most suitable for their application to achieve the optimum price/performance balance without the need to support different carrier board designs.
